Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, released the following statement after attending Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's virtual joint address to Congress:

"I have been moved by every one of President Zelenskyy's speeches – but none more so than today. President Zelenskyy has made a stirring plea for the future of his country. The United States should heed that call.

Today, Congressman Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) along with, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.), and 30 Members of Congress delivered a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressing concern for the ongoing safety of Ukrainian employees of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development, and urging the department to continue to assist them and their families in relocating out of the country as needed.

He called for NATO to immediately provide jets to Ukraine and establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

Today, Representatives David N. Cicilline (RI-01), Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01), Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Mike Quigley (IL-05) introduced H.R. 6892, the Ukrainian Protection Act of 2022, legislation to grant Ukrainians currently in the United States Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to prevent deportation of these individuals back to Ukraine during the current violent conflict.

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, assembled and distributed blue and yellow ribbons for Members of Congress and Senators to wear during tonight's State of the Union Address. This effort is a bipartisan, bicameral show of solidarity and unity with the Ukrainian people. Members also gathered outside the steps of the Capitol for a photo displaying support for Ukraine.

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, has selected Maria Solomia Bandriwsky as his virtual guest to President Biden's State of the Union Address to Congress on Tuesday. Bandriwsky serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago chapter of the American Ukrainian Youth Association and has previously done humanitarian service in Ukraine.
