Quigley Statement on Meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley, co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, joined a virtual call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss his country's needs and how the United States can support Ukraine amidst the ongoing Russian invasion. Following the call, Quigley released a statement:

"I have been deeply moved by President Zelensky's strength and resilience. During our discussion today, I was again inspired by his resolve on behalf of his nation when he reiterated his commitment to defeating the Russian invasion and requested additional support from Congress. He powerfully made his case for Ukraine and for the principles behind that: defending a sovereign democratic country.

"We must provide the Ukrainian people with the support they need in the face of this illegal invasion. As Congress is poised to pass additional aid for Ukraine in the coming days, I sincerely hope that this package receives unanimous, bipartisan support."
