Quigley Organizes Display of Solidary for Ukraine During State of the Union

March 1, 2022

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, assembled and distributed blue and yellow ribbons for Members of Congress and Senators to wear during tonight's State of the Union Address. This effort is a bipartisan, bicameral show of solidarity and unity with the Ukrainian people. Members also gathered outside the steps of the Capitol for a photo displaying support for Ukraine. Quigley said, "For a few hours this evening, our attention will turn to President Biden and his remarks in front of Congress, yet our hearts will remain with the people of Ukraine. I look forward to hearing more from President Biden laying out the next steps the Administration plans to take in support of Ukraine. This small demonstration is meant to show the President and the world that Congress is a ready and willing partner as we provide even more military, humanitarian and financial aid to Ukrainians and their government."

Congressman Quigley is proud to represent a thriving Ukrainian-American community in Chicago, Illinois. Since entering Congress, Quigley has worked closely with local Ukrainian organizations such as the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Illinois Division, to help inform his decisions in Washington as it relates to promoting and protecting Ukrainian sovereignty.
