Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (D-IL), founder of the Congressional Transparency Caucus, re-introduced two bills aimed at lifting the veil from government business and restoring the full trust and faith of the American people in the office of the presidency.
U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the below statement after meeting with Oscar Robles and his family in support of Robles' annual U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) check-in. Robles immigrated to the United States as a teenager and, although currently undocumented, has no criminal history and consistently cooperates with regular ICE check-ins. Robles is expected to complete his latest ICE check-in later today. Quigley met with Robles and his family on Monday to offer his support in the leadup to this appointment.
Today, Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-05) joined Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) and 5 members of Congress in introducing a House Resolution recognizing the sovereignty of Ukraine and the unbreakable spirit of the people of Ukraine. The resolution comes just over a year since Russia crossed into a sovereign country, unleashing a completely unprovoked war of aggression on Ukraine.
U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) spoke on the House floor in recognition of the recent anniversary of Putin's invasion of Ukraine and to urge his colleagues to continue their support for Ukraine. Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee's Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Subcommittee, and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, commended President Joe Biden's fiscal year 2024 discretionary funding request for including a request for $350 million for the 5.6 mile extension of the Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line. This is the first rail transit extension in Chicago in 30 years.
