Today, Chicago Congressman Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement on Trump’s deployment of ICE agents to O’Hare International Airport, amidst Republican refusals to fund TSA:
“I don’t trust ICE in our airports any more than I did on the streets of Chicago. They do not have the training to perform TSA’s functions, and they are far more likely to cause fear than to reassure travelers of their safety. This decision does nothing to allay flyers' security concerns or reduce airport waiting times.
Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker released the following joint statement, after the Trump administration decided to withhold $2.1 billion in approved funding for the Red Line Extension and the Purple & Modernization Program:

U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley (D-IL-05), Jesus “Chuy” García (D-IL-04), Danny Davis (D-IL-07) and U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), announced that the Illinois Department of Transportation will receive $15,805,600 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for improvements to the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) Forest Park Branch.
