1. Fought for TSA Agents' Pay and to Keep ICE Out of Airports
For weeks now, Democrats have been offering our colleagues across the aisle the opportunity to fund the most important parts of DHS, like TSA, without funding ICE or CBP. Instead of supporting a plan that would pay TSA and end the chaos at airports, Trump's solution this week was to send ICE into airports like O'Hare.
I don’t trust ICE in our airports any more than I did on the streets of Chicago. They do not have the training to perform TSA’s functions, and they are far more likely to cause fear than to reassure us about safety.

2. Supported CTA Funding Ruling
Last year, the Trump administration put nearly $2 billion in funding for CTA's Red Line extension "on hold" - a purely political move to hurt blue cities and blue states. Thankfully, a judge ruled this week that they must give CTA this funding. I hope this ruling gets us one step closer to CTA receiving this funding and getting these projects back up and running.
Since 2019, the Red Purple Modernization Project has already created more than 2,600 construction trade labor jobs. The Project will also create another 10,000 construction jobs and indirectly add 59,800 jobs in local communities. Trump could be supporting Chicago’s efforts to CREATE new jobs. Instead, he’s eliminating them.

3. Pushed Back on Raw Milk and Unsafe Food Products
From firing the staffers who support special education to attempting to destroy the Department itself, former WWE Head Linda McMahon has proven to be unfit to support America's students. That's why I'm joining Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici from the Education and Workforce Committee in calling for McMahon's impeachment.
We knew McMahon was unqualified for Education Secretary when she was first nominated by Trump. But her alliance with Project 2025 architect Russell Vought and her attacks on students with disabilities have proven her to be a disaster. We need to save the Department of Education and only approve an Education Secretary who actually wants to improve our schools.

I'm a lifelong hockey fan who still gets out onto the ice every Saturday. I was excited to join the Congressional Hockey Challenge this week. This 16 year old annual charity game pits federal lawmakers, congressional staff and administration officials against lobbyists. The game raises money for charities like Fort Dupont Cannons, USA Warriors Hockey, Capital Beltway Warriors, the Tampa Warriors, and the NHL Foundation
