Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), along with 20 members of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking him to emphasize the importance of LGBTQ+ rights in Ukraine during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's upcoming visit. In the letter, the Members noted the recent introduction of dangerous bills in Ukraine's parliament that would harm Ukraine's LGBTQ+ community, as well as violence at Pride celebrations.

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley's (IL-05) legislation the Congressional Budget Justification Transparency Act is headed to President Joe Biden's desk for signature after passing both the House and Senate on Monday. The bipartisan bill, introduced on the first day of the 117th Congress by Quigley, co-founder and co-chair of the Congressional Transparency Caucus, and Representative James Comer (KY-01), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, will increase access to the federal government's expenditures.

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released a statement following a trip to Albania where Afghan refugees were due to arrive for temporary resettlement en route to the United States. Prime Minister Edi Rama reaffirmed his earlier offer for Albania to temporarily admit Afghan refugees seeking U.S. visas. Quigley had planned to greet the refugees upon their arrival to Albania, however, the flights encountered repeated delays.

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) participated in a briefing with the City of Chicago and Cook County on the extension of the 606 multiuse trail. Earlier this year, Quigley submitted the 606 trail to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as one of his Member Designated Projects. It was included in the House-passed INVEST in America Act last month.
