Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Oversight and Reform, released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to create a Select Committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol:

"The January 6 attack was not just a harrowing experience for those of us who were there – it was an attack on the very foundation of our democracy. We have a responsibility to uncover the truth of what took place and led up to, that day.

The House Appropriations Committee today released the draft fiscal year 2022 Financial Services and General Government funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation provides annual funding for the Department of the Treasury, the Judiciary, the Executive Office of the President, and other independent agencies, including the Small Business Administration.

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) held a call with Isabella Casillas Guzman, the head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to discuss the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program. On the call, Quigley expressed his alarm over the slow rollout of the SVOG program and the ongoing issues the program is experiencing. He also shared the concerns he has heard from his constituents, many of whom have contacted Quigley's office about the difficulty of accessing the program and the need for funding to be disbursed quickly.
