U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD), joined leaders from Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) as part of his “Mike on the Move” initiative. U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), Vice Chair of the Quiet Skies Caucus, joined his colleagues on a letter to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development requesting that they include in the subcommittee’s fiscal year 2018 appropriations bill two important provisions to help mitigate airplane noise. The Caucus requested that the Subcommittee “provide funding for health studies on the impact of airplane and helicopter noise on communities and… include report language directing the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct an expedited review of their noise standards.”

Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), David Cicilline (D-RI), and 37 other House Democrats called on the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee to fund the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) at a level that supports data collection in all 50 states.
