Today, Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-05), who serves as Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services & General Government (FSGG), held a hearing with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on its role in preparing President Donald Trump's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2020. The President's budget calls for devastating cuts to programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP, to pay for the GOP's disastrous tax cuts for the wealthy.

Today, a legislative proposal introduced by U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), was the subject of a hearing held by the House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Oceans, and Wildlife. Quigley's legislation, H.R. 1380, The Big Cat Public Safety Act, would outlaw the private possession of big cats such as lions, tigers, panthers, and cheetahs, except at highly-qualified facilities that can safely and humanely care for the animals.

Quigley, co-founder and co-chair of the Congressional Transparency Caucus, and U.S. Senator Tom Udall reintroduced the Making Access Records Available to Lead American Government Openness (MAR-A-LAGO) Act, a bicameral bill that requires the publication of visitor logs to the White House or any other location where President Trump regularly conducts official business, including various Trump Organization properties that he frequents.
