In our district, I am lucky to have a team dedicated to helping my constituents get the most out of their government services. They assist with everything from passport renewals to student loans, IRS cases, postal issues, veterans affairs and much more. 

As you know, Women's History Month is celebrated every March. Women’s activism, strength and resilience has helped achieve critical advancement in every field—from medicine and math, sports and media, to education and politics.

As a member of the House Committee on Appropriations and Ranking Member of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban-Development Subcommittee, I'm proud to bring home $12,523,436 for Community Funding Projects.

On Wednesday, I cosponsored the Access to Family Building Act, H.R. 7056. If signed into law, this bill would protect the right to access in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technology services nationwide.

Exactly two years ago today, Putin's forces invaded Ukraine. Throughout that time, the Ukrainian people have shown the free world their determination and their resilience. Despite the growing needs of the Ukrainian army, some of my colleagues have refused to send the additional aid they need to win this war.

As you know, February is Black History Month. This is a critical opportunity to recognize the many powerful voices and stories of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history. As a member of Congress, I will continue to work with my colleagues in supporting legislation that identifies and eliminates injustice in our government and society while celebrating the important contributions made by Black Americans. 

On Tuesday, I sat down with athletes and teachers from Illinois Special Olympics. They came to the hill to share the successes of two federally supported Special Olympics programs: Unified Champion Schools and Inclusive Health.

On Wednesday, Senators Dick Durbin, Tammy Duckworth, and I met with Union Pacific to discuss the positive impact improving Union Station will have across the region. With Union Pacific's help, we can make the station safer and more efficient for riders.
