"Today is a moment of hope for millions of Americans. After the darkness and division of the past four years, it was an incredible relief to hear President Biden speak above all else of unity.
First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you who have reached out in recent days to offer your support and check on the well-being of my staff and I. While I am fortunate enough to have come through last Wednesday's events unscathed, I remain shocked and appalled by what took place.

"Today, I voted to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time.
Today, bipartisan legislation introduced by U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley (D-IL) and James Comer (R-KY), the Congressional Budget Justification Transparency Act, to increase access to transparency regarding the federal government's expenditure of taxpayer dollars, passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 412-2.
U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley (D-IL) and Fred Upton (R-MI), today re-introduced a bipartisan bill, the Preventing Future Pandemics Act, which would direct the State Department to work with international partners to shut down commercial wildlife markets, end the trade in live wildlife for human consumption and stop the associated wildlife trade, end the import, export and sale of live wildlife for human consumption in the United States, and phase out demand for wildlife as a food source.
