Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved an amendment authored by U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) to require a review of the relationship between survival of domestic violence and the development of a substance use disorder. The Visa Waiver Program allows pre-screened, pre-approved travelers from participating countries to travel to the United States, after undergoing a rigorous Department of Homeland Security approval process, for stays of up to 90 days. Rebranding the program to the Secure Travel Partnership more accurately reflects the mission and security of the program.

Today, a legislative proposal introduced by U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), was the subject of a hearing held by the House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Oceans, and Wildlife. Quigley's legislation, H.R. 1380, The Big Cat Public Safety Act, would outlaw the private possession of big cats such as lions, tigers, panthers, and cheetahs, except at highly-qualified facilities that can safely and humanely care for the animals.
