As we enter wildfire season, watershed infrastructure that would mitigate future contamination of local rivers and reservoirs is still being rebuilt from last season. And funding for rebuilding is only now being allocated, having been delayed under sequestration, affecting lives and homes."

"Mr. Ryans plan for Medicare and Medicaid misses the point: His solution simply shifts the costs from the government to patients, rather than reducing health costs... There are 5 steps we could take to reduce health care spending the RIGHT way," said Rep. Quigley.

"We are a nation built on justice, fairness, and equal protection, and we are all stronger when we protect these ideals and protect the most vulnerable among us. The Senate-passed VAWA embodies these principles and protects all victims. We should pass it today," said Rep. Quigley."

"I recognize that not everyone I serve with would agree on how to cut defense and adjust social programs to make them sustainable over time, but thats the whole point: you have to compromise. Sadly, thats not en vogue these days," said Rep. Quigley."
