Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Congressmen Barney Frank (D- MA), Jared Polis (D-CO), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Mike Honda (D-CA), and Mike Quigley (D-IL), joined by more than 50 Members of the LGBT Equality Caucus, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus have sent a letter to President Obama and House and Senate leaders expressing their strong support for a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would end discrimination against LGBT binational families.

Today, Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL) provided information on how to apply for project funding from the federal government in 2011 and announced that his office will be holding meetings to help people and organizations through the process. Just as President Barack Obama stressed the need for earmark reform in his State of the Union address, Quigley, too, is committed to making sure federal funding is focused on those who need it most, which is why he introduced a bill to prohibit for-profit entities from receiving earmarks and will not consider their requests.

On New Year's Eve, Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) joined the cast and co-hosted a benefit production of "A Christmas Carol" at the Goodman Theatre for Chicago-area servicemen and women and their families. Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky co-hosted the "Community Day" event with the Goodman Theatre and the USO. Quigley and Schakowsky both appeared in walk-on roles during several scenes in the performance.
