U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) urges the House to pass emergency unemployment insurance and address the jobs emergency facing America through meaningful job creation legislation.

Like it or not, "this is a global economy," said Mr. Quigley in an interview earlier this week. "If you're not at the bargaining table, if you don't get an agreement, someone else does," he said, referring specifically to China, which has been building ties rapidly with some of America's traditionally strong trading partners in Asia. "You'll be left in the dust."

Every day some 2,500 flights land and take off at O’Hare International Airport, with more than 66 million passengers passing through its terminals in 2012. By any measure O’Hare is integral to the nation’s commercial air traffic network, with delays there reverberating across the country.

"Although things have changed a great deal here in the U.S., we still have to fight for women's rights every day. And the fight is even more robust in developing nations where women are marginalized, abused and discriminated against on a daily basis."

"It is also a fact that neighborhoods–not noisy aircraft–make life in Chicago and its suburbs special. We all need to work together to ensure the vitality of our neighborhoods isn't drowned out in the roar of aircraft overhead."
