Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, led members of the Illinois delegation in a letter to the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Commerce, Justice, and Science calling for the allocation of $150 million for the 2024 presidential candidate nominating conventions. Specifically, the letter asks that $75 million be dedicated to each host city to cover security costs.

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), Ranking Member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, questioned Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Billy Nolen about the impact of potential funding cuts and ongoing efforts to reduce airplane noise. As Co-chair of the Quiet Skies Caucus, Quigley expressed concern about the adverse health impacts airplane noise has on constituents in his district.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley, the lead sponsor of the Big Cat Public Safety Act, applauded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (FWS) announcement of the first deadline related to the implementation of his big cat protection legislation. FWS has announced that owners of big cats such as lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, cougars, or hybrids of these species must register them by the end of the day June 18, 2023.
