Reporter: Congressman Mike Quigley steps up on Capitol Hill to ask the Federal government to jump in to fight illegal guns in Chicago.

Quigley: While we continue to spend billions of dollars on nuclear weapons, tanks and wars overseas, we are ignoring the gang war that is happening here at home. It's time for the Federal Government to step up to the challenge by stopping gun violence where it starts.

Reporter: Congressman Quigley wants stiffer penalties for gun traffickers that supply Chicago's gangs along with Federal funding for more police.
