ABC 7 News Anchor Cheryl Burton:CTA Red and Purple line riders will be big winners if new modernization proposals become reality.

ABC 7 News Anchor Ron Magers:Senator Dick Durbin, Congressman Mike Quigley and Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced details today. Newly approved federal spending could provide much of the money to complete massive reconstruction work on the Red and Purple lines north of Belmont. Senator Durbin says there will be competition with other cities to get the federal money, but he is optimistic.
