Quigley Visits Haiti, Guantanamo Bay

April 1, 2011

WASHINGTON -- This week, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) returned from a Congressional Delegation trip to Haiti and Guantanamo Bay to assess the progress of American aid and reconstruction efforts following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and to tour detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay.

"This delegation is vitally important for two reasons," said Quigley. "We can't forget the families whose lives were destroyed by last year's terrible earthquake, and we must do all we can to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility that threatens our national security every day."
