Quigley Supports Select Committee on Green New Deal

December 12, 2018

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), who serves as Vice Chair of the Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC), released the following statement in support of the creation of a House Select Committee on a Green New Deal to combat our climate change challenges:

"As a member of the Sierra Club since I was 16 years old, environmental stewardship was my introduction to public service. From clean jobs to renewable energy and emissions reductions, meaningful action to combat climate change has been a top priority throughout my years in local government, education, and Congress. Today, as we mark the third anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement, I'm proud to take this next step for our environment, economy, and public health by supporting a Select Committee on a Green New Deal."
