Quigley Statement on the Passing of Nelson Mandela

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement on the death of civil rights leader and former South African President Nelson Mandela:

"The world has lost an icon for justice with the passing of Nelson Mandela, whose long walk to freedom leaves behind an even longer legacy of tolerance, equality and perseverance. Mr. Mandela's wisdom has influenced many in the Chicago area, including myself, and will continue to inspire a more loving and optimistic future for people around the world."
