Quigley Statement on House Vote to Shutdown Government

September 30, 2013

WASHINGTON – Tonight, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) issued the following statement after passage of H.R. 3210.

"In their refusal to separate a government spending bill from the health care law, my colleagues across the aisle have made it clear they are willing to bend to the tyranny of the minority and shutdown our government at any cost. We have a responsibility to the American people to stop this reckless and irresponsible path and work together to keep the government running."

Rep. Quigley serves on the House Committee on Appropriations, where he has made Chicago-area infrastructure investment a top priority as a member of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD). He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government.
