Quigley Statement on House Vote to Restore Net Neutrality
Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1644, The Save the Internet Act, to restore net neutrality provisions for internet users, which were repealed by the Trump administration last year:
"Access to a free and open internet is critical for consumers, students, families, and entrepreneurs. I was proud to join my colleagues today to restore protections for internet users and ensure that no provider can stifle access to the internet. The Save the Internet Act goes beyond reinstating net neutrality by enhancing transparency and restoring authority for the FCC to fund broadband access for low-income Americans. Our twenty-first century economy depends on equal access to the internet for all and I will keep fighting for that goal here in Congress until it becomes a reality."
