Quigley Statement On Assassination of Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement after the assassination of Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

"Today, along with the rest of world, I mourn the loss of Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Abe when he traveled to Washington to address Congress in 2015. Our wives also shared a meal during a trip to Japan in 2020. As Japan's longest serving Prime Minister, Mr. Abe's leadership was absolutely critical to the U.S.-Japan alliance. I extend my deepest sympathies to the Abe family and the people of Japan."
