Quigley Meets with Constituents at Neighborhood Street Fests

CHICAGO -- After a full week of meeting constituents back home in the district, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) spent the weekend touring neighborhood street festivals. He sampled mouth-watering burgers at Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce's Burgerfest, stopped by Welles Park for Old Town School of Music's Chicago Folk & Roots Festival, and chose the lucky raffle winner at the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club's Family Fest.

"It's a wonderful privilege to meet with my neighbors and hear their thoughts, especially during these great Chicago summer festivals," said Quigley. "No matter how much time I spend in Washington, my community is where I truly feel at home."

At Burgerfest, located on the corner of Belmont Ave. and Damen Ave., Quigley met with local restaurant owners to discuss their business concerns. He later introduced the Glen David Andrews Band at the Folk & Roots Festival hosted by the Old Town School of Folk Music. Quigley spoke with the school's executive director, Bau Graves, about the school's new facility that is currently under construction.

The next day, Quigley headed to Paul Revere Park on Irving Park Road for the last day of the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club's Family Fest, where he spent time meeting with families from the district. He later participated in their biggest event by announcing the $10,000 raffle winner.
