Quigley Joins Democratic Colleagues in Sending Letter to FCC Urging a Delay in Net Neutrality Vote

118 Democratic Members Warn: Don’t Kill Net Neutrality

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), joined 117 of his Democratic colleagues in sending the below letter to FCC Commissioners urging them not to vote on FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's "Restoring Internet Freedom Order" to repeal Net Neutrality. Chairman Pai recently released this proposed regulation and announced that it would be voted on at the FCC's December 14 meeting.

"President Trump's FCC plan to repeal Net Neutrality would harm free speech, stall entrepreneurship, and deal a major blow to our economic competitiveness and all American consumers," said Rep. Quigley. "Equal access to all online content is a cornerstone of the Internet, and I strongly oppose Chairman Pai's efforts to weaken protections. The FCC's proposed plan would reduce competition, stifle innovation, and charge customers more for less; and the vote must not move forward."
