Quigley Joins Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior

January 18, 2019

WASHINGTON – This week, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) was elected to serve as a Member of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agency Subcommittee on Appropriations. A Member of the House Appropriations Committee for six years, Rep. Quigley also serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) and as a Member of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD).

"As a lifelong environmentalist and Vice-Chair of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), I'm thrilled for the opportunity to serve on the Interior, Environment, and Related Agency Subcommittee," said Rep. Quigley. "The Interior Subcommittee's work with the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of the Interior is vital in ensuring those agencies serve the American people and our environment by acting as responsible stewards of our shared natural heritage. Under the Trump Administration, the Interior Subcommittee has the added responsibility of providing oversight of leadership at EPA and DOI that at many times seems hostile to the very missions of the agencies they run. I take this responsibility seriously and look forward to standing with Subcommittee Chairwoman McCollum and my colleagues in defense of all Americans' right to clean air, water, and land."

The Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the following:
