Quigley Issues Update on Office Operations
Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) announced that out of an abundance of caution and to protect the health of his staff and visitors, his Washington, D.C. and Chicago offices will be operating remotely.
Quigley and his staff will continue to carry out their official duties and encourages Chicagoans to contact his offices for any assistance they need. The Congressman can be contacted via his website at quigley.house.gov and by phone at (202) 225-4061 or (773) 267-5926. He will also keep constituents apprised of updates across his social media channels at @RepMikeQuigley.
Quigley released the following statement after announcing these operational changes:
“The health and safety of Chicago and the nation is my top priority.
“I’m proud of how quickly Congress has acted so far to pass much-needed supplemental funding so states and local governments have the resources they need to take on this challenge. The House has also taken bipartisan action to pass legislation to ensure that everyone who needs a coronavirus test can take one without worrying about the cost, hard-working Americans have access to emergency sick leave, and no one has to go hungry during the uncertainty ahead. As this situation continues to develop, I will continue working with my colleagues to pass additional legislation as our understanding of our nation’s needs develops.
“I remain dedicated to holding the Trump administration accountable while we press for more widespread testing and increased transparency and coordination with federal and state agencies so the public can feel secure in the federal government’s response to this outbreak.”
Quigley encourages any constituents to comply with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Chicago Department of Public Health. Following these recommendations helps keep everyone safe and healthy.
