Quigley Issues Statement on 9/11 Anniversary

September 11, 2009

Congressman Quigley issued the following statement today on the eighth anniversary of the September 11th tragedy:

"We all have our stories of where we were on September 11th, a date so tragic it no longer needs a year to remind us of what the day felt like, looked like, hurt like in 2001.

"As we take a moment today to remember what shook us to the core eight years ago, we stand stronger, more united, and committed to service. Our heavy hearts go out to the families who lost loved ones and friends, many of whom were first responders - firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and civilians - who ran into the fire to save their neighbors when anyone would run out.

"We thank and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice eight years ago today, and salute those men and women who do so today, and every day. You remind us what it means to serve, and show our children what it means to be a hero."
