Quigley Defends Chicago Pizza Superiority
Responds to Rep. Rosa DeLauro’s outlandish claims about New Haven Pizza
Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) declared Chicago the home of the nation’s best pizza following a visit to one of Chicago’s iconic pizzerias. Quigley visited Pat’s Pizzeria on Lincoln Avenue where he met with staff and enjoyed a slice. To watch a video of Quigley’s visit, click HERE.
“There is no doubt that the best pizza in the world comes from right here in Chicago. My visit to Pat’s made it clear that there's nothing quite like Chicago's tavern-style pizza made at a family-owned establishment with more than 75 years of Chicago history,” said Quigley. “To my colleagues who doubt Chicago pizza superiority, I invite them to step into any of the local pizza spots across our great city and see what real pizza tastes like.”

Quigley’s declaration comes in response to Representative Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) declaring Connecticut the “Pizza State.” Her announcement has since sparked debate among lawmakers on which states deserves the sought-after title.
