Quigley Condemns Antisemitic Displays in Chicagoland Area
Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement after reports of Antisemitic messages left on parked cars on the Northwest Side, including in Quigley’s district:
“The antisemitic signs and flyers left around Chicago this weekend are a cowardly and disgusting display of hatred that must be unequivocally condemned by all. Our Jewish friends and neighbors deserve to live without the fear of bigotry or violence. Reports indicate that some of these displays included the perpetuation of deeply rooted conspiracy theories that have no place in our communities.
“We must all come together to stamp out this rise in antisemitism.
“Since the renewal of violence in the Middle East, antisemitic and Islamophobic acts have risen drastically across the country, including the horrific murder of 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume in Illinois last month. While every American is free to express their political beliefs, our disagreements must never veer into bigotry. Let me be clear: no amount of political disagreement justifies hatred against an entire group of people.”
