With the failed Republican vote on making changes to the Affordable Care Act, U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Chicago) says any further attempts to overhaul Obamacare must see bipartisan input.

Quigley tells Big John and Rambling Ray on WLS, that there is a piece of advice from a former colleague that can be applied to the efforts in Washington to overhaul healthcare.

"When I sat down, after I got sworn in, [then]-Congressman Mark Kirk came up to me. His first bit of advice was everything that gets done here, gets done in the middle."

Quigley says there are things within Obamacare that need to be fixed.

"It needs fixing and that's out task. I do believe there is a middle ground to move forward to make sure people have healthcare and we do the right thing to save the public money as well."

Quigley says one thing that must be addressed is rising medical costs and rising prescription costs.
