Upcoming Events in Illinois' 5th District

In order to continue providing you with useful constituent services, I want to make you aware of several upcoming events this month.

Congressman Mike Quigley's Small Business Fair

When: Friday, April 13th from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Where: Chicago Academy (3400 N. Austin Ave.)

Congressman Quigley's Small Business Fair will provide helpful services from all levels of government to small businesses in the district.  The fair will feature two panels (both require an RSVP due to limited seating). One panel will focus on what government programs and resources are available to small businesses. The other panel will feature how and where small businesses can obtain funding.

Power of Attorney & Living Will Workshop

When: Tuesday, April 17th from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Where: The Portage Park Satellite Senior Center (4100 N. Long Ave.)

Congressman Mike Quigley's One-Stop Job & Resource Fair

When: Tuesday, April 24th from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Northeastern Illinois University, Student Union (5500 N. Saint Louis Avenue)

Connecting our constituents with employment resources is a top priority for our office. We are hosting a one-stop job fair that will include employers and workforce development agencies to provide you with resources you need to take your next step to a new career.

This event is free and open to the public. Please dress professionally and bring multiple resumes. If you are planning on parking on campus, please refer to the flyer for special instructions.

Money Smart Week

When: April 21st - 28th

Money Smart Week is a series of free classes and activities sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago that is designed to help consumers make better decisions about their personal finances.  

Between April 21-28, individuals in the Chicago area can attend classes on a wide variety of topics, such as how to improve their credit score, save to buy a home or plan for retirement.  Money Smart Week classes are free of charge.
