Thank You, Veterans!

Each year, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year, we pause as a nation to honor all those who have served in our armed forces.

I so wish that we could all be together today. In any other year, we would be celebrating our veterans at parades and festivals and thanking veterans in person. This year, we honor our veterans – and particularly our elderly veterans – by staying home instead.

To those who have served- I am constantly inspired by your service, humbled by your selflessness, and grateful for your dedication to America. I hope you know how much our nation appreciates you. And today, in particular, our proud nation thanks you for all that you are, all that you have done, and all that you have given in service to these United States of America.

From protecting trans service members to preventing veteran homelessness to ensuring proper access to mental health care, I’m proud to be fighting in DC on behalf of our veterans. All of us who enjoy the benefits of living in this great country must always remember that the reason the United States stands as a beacon of freedom throughout the world is because of our brave veterans.

We owe it to our veterans to show gratitude by keeping our promises to them when they come back home.

Please join me in thanking every veteran for their service. I hope that you, your family, and all veterans have a wonderful, safe Veteran’s Day.
