Dear Friend,

As you have no doubt heard by now, Haiti suffered a devastating loss this week with the worst earthquake the island has seen in over 200 years.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to the people of Haiti who have suffered this terrible tragedy. The destruction has claimed the lives of thousands, ripping apart families and paralyzing this island nation.

As the President said yesterday, Haiti has the full support of America and our resources, and it is my sincere hope that rescue and recovery efforts will save lives and help limit the effects of the damage that has already been wrought.

Families in Haiti and their loved ones here and around the world are in our thoughts and prayers.

If you are looking for information about family members or friends living or traveling in Haiti, please call the State Department's hotline at 1-888-407-4747.

Lastly, I know we're all trying to do more with less at home during these difficult times, but every dollar helps emergency response for families who lost everything. If you are able to help those in desperate need, please click here for more information.

Thank you to all those who are assisting the effort on the ground, and to anyone who can join me in sending thoughts of hope or assistance their way.

Sincerely,

Mike Quigley
