Dear Friend,

Health Care Open Enrollment is now underway and the deadline to receive coverage for 2017 is just around the corner! If you or someone you know is looking for affordable health insurance for the New Year, be sure to visit www.healthcare.gov before the January 31 deadline.

Since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, over 20 million Americans have gained coverage, resulting in the lowest uninsured rate in American history. The ACA has also expanded access to quality care by prohibiting lifetime limits, allowing young adults to stay on their parents' plan until age 26, and guaranteeing that insurance companies cannot refuse coverage based on pre-existing conditions or charge more based on gender.

Coverage matters for Chicagoans across the Fifth District. If you are looking for further assistance in your healthcare search, you can check out the closest Enrollment Assistance Center near you, where trained enrollment specialists can provide you with free, helpful information on how to qualify for financial assistance, how to start an application, how to re-enroll, and more.

Illinois residents can explore their options and apply online at www.healthcare.gov or by calling a representative toll-free at 1-800-318-2596. And as always, feel free to call my district office if you have any questions at 773-267-5926. I wish you all a happy and healthy 2017!

Sincerely,

Mike Quigley
