Dear Friend,

During this District Work Period, I've been focusing on getting my constituents the resources you need.

1. Launched an Immigration Protection Toolkit

My office is here to help during the current dramatic increase in ICE action in and around Chicago, and this administration's attacks on immigrant communities. As part of my commitment to aiding and protecting immigrants, I have launched an Immigration Protection Toolkit on my website. This page is intended to provide information and resources for anyone concerned about their safety or the safety of their loved ones. It also makes it easier for anyone who needs help to contact my office.

2. Held a Senior Resource Fair

On Thursday, I held my Fall Senior Resource Fair, the second resource fair I've held this year. I know how confusing the chaos coming from the White House can be. In this environment, one of the most important things my office can do is help you navigate the chaos. My Senior Fairs bring together resources from the city, state, and federal levels so seniors can get help with everything from Social Security to getting annual vaccines.

If you or a loved one needs help cutting through red tape with the VA, Social Security, the IRS, or other federal agencies, my office can help.

Visit my website or call my office for more information.

3. Called for Transparency into ICE Operations in Chicago

IL Dems Demand Access to Broadview ICE Facility

Today, all Democratic members of the Illinois delegation and I demanded a meeting with ICE Field Office Director Russell Hott to force him to answer questions about ICE's operations in Chicagoland. Chicagoans deserve to know what's going on behind closed doors at places like the Broadview Processing Facility. The sum total of Trump's immigration policy is stoking fear and tormenting immigrants. ICE's refusal to answer questions is unacceptable.
