Catching Up with Quigley: Week of November 24
Dear Friend,
Happy Thanksgiving! Here are three things I did to represent you this week.
1. Supported Our Small Businesses at Wicker Park Roundtable
To celebrate Small Business Saturday coming up this weekend, I joined dozens of local business owners at a Small Business Roundtable in Wicker Park. We discussed the impacts of Trump's tariffs and ICE raids, as well as other issues facing our community.
If you're doing any holiday shopping this weekend, I encourage you to support our local restaurants, ‘mom and pop’ shops, and other businesses that make our city a retail destination. Shop small, shop Chicago!
I also stopped by food pantries at Nourishing Hope and St. Rita de Cascia. With the SNAP cuts from Trump's Big Ugly Bill soon to take effect, many of our neighbors will be in poverty for the long-term. Our food pantries need our help now more than ever.

2. Demanded the Inspector General Hold ICE Accountable
Three weeks ago, I led the entire Illinois congressional delegation in calling for DHS Inspector General Cuffari to investigate ICE’s misconduct in Chicago. We called for a response by November 21st. That date has come and gone.
I'm again demanding an immediate response from Inspector General Cuffari. Chicago deserves answers.

3. Condemned Putin-back 'Peace' Plan
I also joined Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus, Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH-09), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01), along with Representative Don Bacon (R-NE-02), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Cyber, Information Technologies, and Innovation, in denouncing Trump's Putin-backed plan for 'peace' in Ukraine. The plan favors the interests of the aggressor — dictator Vladimir Putin — over the sovereignty and security of a democratic Ukraine. It's unacceptable.
I also joined WGN to discuss the ongoing war and why America should continue to stand by Ukraine.
