1. Introduced Bill to Build More Housing FAST
Experts believe the United States needs more than 5 million homes to address our housing crisis. And Chicago is facing a shortage of more than 100,000 affordable homes. This week, I introduced the FAST Housing Act to make Chicago, Illinois, and other regions across the country eligible for millions in federal funds to produce new homes. I’m proud to be partnering with Congressman Ciscomani on this transformative legislation, and I look forward to working together to see it signed into law.

2. Discovered Mars HQ Expansion and Investment in New Jobs
This week, I visited the Mars Headquarters on Goose Island to learn about their operations and plans to expand in our area. At a time when so many people are out of work, Mars just announced that they're adding 600 new jobs through a $100 million investment in our city. Mars makes some of our favorite treats, like M&M's, Wrigley's Gum, and Kind bars. I'm excited to work alongside companies like Mars to bring more investment to our great city.

3. Slammed Trump's Failing Iran Strategy
In his speech on Wednesday night, Trump made it clear once again that he has no timeline for ending this conflict, no strategy, and no intentions of cleaning up the mess he has made. Americans are facing gas prices over $4 for the first time since 2022. In Chicago, we’re over $4.40 — all thanks to Trump’s decision to start a war he can not win.
Earlier in the week, I joined Pamela Brown to discuss Trump's failing Iran strategy. Watch my full interview HERE.
