Catching Up With Quigley: Week of March 11
Dear Friend,
I hope you've had a good week. I wanted to share some of the work I did this week while in Washington and in our district.
1. Celebrated Women's History Month
As you know, Women's History Month is celebrated every March. Women’s activism, strength and resilience has helped achieve critical advancement in every field—from medicine and math, sports and media, to education and politics. Historically, women facing the greatest injustice—including women of color, immigrant women, women with disabilities, lesbian and trans women, and others—have often led the charge in pushing America forward and advancing the ideals of equity and justice for all.
I believe to truly honor Women's History Month, we must keep fighting for women every single day. To watch my video, click HERE.
2. Celebrated St. Patrick's Day with Ascension Living Resurrection Village

Earlier today, I visited the folks at the Ascension Living Resurrection Village to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I had a great time meeting with them and sharing some information on the ways our office can assist seniors.
An estimated 15 percent of our district have Irish heritage, and Chicago has the second highest population of Irish immigrants. My great-great-grandfather was one of the two million immigrants who left Ireland during the Potato Famine, seeking a better life. I look forward to celebrating the holiday with the rest of the city this weekend!
3. Joined WCPT with Patti Vasquez
On Thursday, I joined Patti Vasquez with WCPT to discuss a wide array of issues. We talked about my experience at the recent State of the Union and my thoughts on President Biden's performance.
We also discussed my efforts to secure $75 million for Chicago to cover security costs associated with hosting the Democratic National Convention in August. Despite inflation and a rise in political violence, the security funding levels have remained stagnant since 2004. I shared why this additional funding is necessary and how it will be dispersed to ensure maximum safety for guests and city residents.
Finally, we talked about the status of funding for the war in Ukraine. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, I have been an ardent supporter of continued aid and stressed the importance of this war to the future of democracy.
