Catching Up with Quigley: Week of February 24
Dear Friend,
Amid the chaos coming out of the White House, I'm continuing to find ways to speak up for democracy. It remains my biggest priority to hear directly from you about how this administration is impacting you.
1. Announced a Virtual Town Hall for March 5

On Wednesday, March 5 at 6 pm I will be joined by legal expert Ed Yohnka from ACLU IL to unpack the destructive actions by the Trump Administration, actions I have taken and will take to fight back, and what community members can do to make their voices heard. I am collecting questions in advance and aim to cover as many topics as possible in one hour. This will be just the first in a series of meetings I plan to hold to provide updates and hear from you. I look forward to seeing you soon.

2. Launched a Portal to Collect Stories About How Trump Is Hurting Our Community
Since taking office, President Donald Trump has enacted a series of Executive Orders with wide-ranging consequences. This has included pausing government funding, firing thousands of federal employees, and so much more. I want to hear from constituents who have been impacted by these Executive Orders. This information will inform my conversations with colleagues in Washington, D.C., how I vote in Congress, interviews conducted with news outlets, and the stories I share with the public. You can go to my website now to share your experience with me and my staff.
3. Called Out Trump and Vance for Doing Putin's Bidding
Earlier today, President Trump and Vice President Vance berated Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in front of the entire world, calling on him to be more "grateful" and repeating Russian talking points about the war. What happened in the Oval Office was one of the most embarrassing moments in American history. Thanks to Trump and Vance, we are a fundamentally different country than we were a few weeks ago and completely unrecognizable to our democratic allies. For over a century, the United States has stood for Democracy. Today, Donald Trump chose the side of dictators. The world order that was established after the Second World War is dead.
