Catching Up with Quigley: Week of February 17

February 21, 2025
E-Newsletters

Dear Friend,

This week was our first district work period since Donald Trump's second inauguration and I made it a priority to spend as much time communicating with you, my constituents, as possible. Here are three things I worked on for you this week.

1. Launched a Centralized Webpage to Share My Work

With so much happening in the news, I know how important it is to share what I'm doing to fight against presidential overreach and protect vulnerable populations. I have also received thousands of phone calls to my offices asking for more information about my work. To that end, this week I launched a centralized page on my website where you can find the latest information about how I'm speaking out and taking action. This page will be updated regularly and, in addition to this newsletter and my social media channels, will be a resource for tracking my work on your behalf.

2. Called Out Trump's Betrayal of Ukraine

In recent days, the Trump administration has made a series of statements showing support for Russia and turning their backs on Ukraine. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, I have found these comments to be wholly unacceptable and a blatant betrayal of our allies in Ukraine. Let me make it clear to President Trump: Putin is a dictator who illegally invaded a sovereign, democratic nation. He has overseen mass atrocities in Ukraine, including the bombing of hospitals, the rape, torture, and murder of civilians, and the kidnapping of thousands of Ukrainian children.

3. Heard Directly From You

The most important part of my job is hearing your biggest concerns and highest priorities directly from you. That's why I prioritize being out in the communities I represent I whenever I am home in Chicago. During this district work period, in addition to several meetings with constituents and organizations, I attended three community association meetings. At East Lakeview Neighbors, Sheffield Neighbors, and Big Oaks-Union Ridge Neighbors, I was able to share some updates and take questions directly from residents. I am planning to host and attend additional community meetings in the coming weeks so stay tuned for more.

Do you want to share your concerns with me? You can email me any time by visiting quigley.house.gov/contact. You can also sign up for in-the-moment updates on my work by following me on social media @RepMikeQuigley or texting "QUIGLEY" to (773) 200-2854.

Sincerely,

Mike Quigley
