Misleading Intelligence Memo Threatens Our National Security

Dear Friend,

Today, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, on which I am proud to serve, released a misleading, classified memo in an attempt to discredit the FBI and undermine the ongoing investigations into Russian interference in our elections. This partisan effort will degrade our democratic institutions and weaken key relationships that keep us safe. The biased, incomplete, and in many instances completely false, document aims to score political points at the expense of our national security. Unfortunately, it is clear that Republicans are more eager to protect the president than the American people.

I believe that the public has a right to know the extent to which the White House had a role in the creation of this misleading memo, which is why I raised several questions to Chairman Nunes about the degree of involvement on behalf of the Trump Administration. I will continue to push for answers, accountability, and transparency in all aspects of our ongoing investigation.
