WASHINGTON—Back home in Chicago over the weekend, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) didn’t let the snow stop him from spending time in communities across the 5th District. On Monday afternoon, Quigley delivered valentines and sweet treats from local elementary schools and senior homes to veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. On Friday night, he lent a hand to Leona’s in Lakeview as part of his ongoing “Undercover Congressman” program, helping to deliver pizzas during the winter weather. “It’s a wonderful privilege to join seniors and students in saying thank you to vets for their extraordinary service and also chip in and better get to know a small business,” said Quigley. “No matter how much time you spend in Washington, my community is where the wheels really meet the street.” Quigley delivered more than 500 cards and 200 candy baskets from six senior homes and Bateman and Bell elementary schools as part of the Valentines for Vets programs.
